The Academy of Music at St. Francis in the Fields offers excellent musical instruction with a faculty of highly trained musicians who are committed to teaching. Instruction is offered through private lessons, monthly performance classes, recitals, and master classes.

The success of a child's musical education depends on parental involvement. This includes making home practice and attendance at monthly performance classes a priorty.
In addition, students and parents should take advantage of recitals and master classes offered by the Academy.

A native of Louisville, Emily's rapidly rising career already includes performances at Tanglewood, Carnegie Hall, and with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. A versatile performer, she is equally at home in Baroque through contemporary music.

Emily Albrink began her studies and continues to work with Edith Davis-Tidwell; she has also studied with Cynthia Hoffmann at the Manhattan School of Music and in workshops with Elly Ameling and Wolfgang Holzmair.

Her Louisville recital will include a song cycle by Mussorgsky called "The Nursery," along with works by Poulenc, Purcell, and Grieg.

The pianist for this performance will be Angelina Gadeliya. This concert is a project of The Kentucky Center and the Fund for the Arts in partnership with The Louisville Orchestra and Kentucky Music Educators Association.

    Master Class with Stewart Goodyear, pianist

       
                 
 

    Known for imagination, graceful, elegant styles and exquisite technique, Stewart Goodyear is an accomplished young artist whose career is clearly on the rise. Some highlights of his season schedule this past year include performances with the San Francisco Symphony under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and Music Director Peter Oundjian as well as his return to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra under Paavo Jarvi, and his Dallas Symphony orchestra debut performances.
